Yeah, okay, so that stands true for all EA Sports games, but this one truly does have it all. Once again, the Madden product has taken center stage as the best football game of the year.
While I have yet to be disappointed by any of the Madden games, this year's addition is a better, tweaked up version of 2001. The gameplay is, without a doubt, a lot smoother, not to mention the "Mulligan" or "Do-Over" option. The graphics are still awesome right down to the elbow pads and chunks of torn up grass on the field.
MADDEN NFL 2002 definately seems to be a lot more realistic this year. Where it has always been the most realistic football game on the market, this year's product is much more accurate as far as game conditions and the running of plays. You must stratagize a lot more, as it is no longer just a shoot-out. On top of that, the kicking aspect definately has taken a step up, no pun inteded. Careful consideration of angles, weather, and leg strength have to be taken into consideration.
Again the sound could be a little better, and the commentary repeats itself often, but it more than made up for with the enhanced player management and superior look of the game. This is an outstanding game with an excellent replay factor. MADDEN NFL 2002 is, by far, the best football game available for the Sony Play Station.
